18 April 2011: HTPA series

Heimann Sensor GmbH

Heimann Sensor announces the new HTPA64x62 infrared image sensor.
The new sensor array is pin-to-pin compatible to the existing HTPA32x31. The thermopile-based HTPA series provides sensor elements with very low time constants and high sensitivity, signal processing with a high frame rate comprising low noise amplifiers and serial peripheral interface. Some types have the option to provide digital image data by an integrated analogue to digital converter.
On the basis of our several years experience in design and development of thermopile sensors we improved the sensitivity of existing image sensor HTPA32x31 by a factor of 8…10 using advanced pixel design combined with vacuum packaging. Even if vacuum has been replaced by an inert gas filling the sensitivity is increased by a factor of 4…6 compared to our existing designs.
The HTPA8x8 is now available in the small TO39 package with only approx. 8mm diameter housing. This miniaturized array provides a perfect solution for low cost applications, since the diameter of the optics is a cost driving factor.
We also expanded the HTPA module portfolio. Our HTPA modules provide an easy way to get a calibrated temperature stream from the sensor. Heimann Sensor developed modules with SPI, UDP and UART interface. A CAN interface will be available, soon.

7 October 2010: Nitrogen Enhanced Purge Systems

AGM Container Controls, Inc.

The NEPS (Nitrogen Enhanced Purge System) provides easy-to-use purging with automatic operation and efficient use of nitrogen. It creates a dry environment within equipment or a system by measuring the dryness of the purge gas as it leaves the system being dried, thus minimizing the amount of nitrogen needed per purge. NEPS nitrogen purge systems are suitable for use with night vision goggles, cameras, imaging systems and other sealed electro-optical equipment. The NEPS can also be used to leak test equipment and to test the quality of the source gas.

Standard models use customer-supplied dry gas source. Field service models are also available, which provide a self-contained desiccant compartment and internal pump to create dry air.
